The Oak Cliff staple Norma’s Cafe is marking 70 years with a community celebration on Wednesday, June 24.

On Wednesday, all five traditional cafe locations will celebrate the milestone with all-day $2 Meal Deals from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. for dine-in guests.

“Seventy years for any restaurant company is not only a milestone but almost unheard of. We look forward to celebrating in a way that feels true to our heart and that is by serving guests that feel like family and giving back to the DFW community,” said Kurt Metzger, vice president of operations for Norma’s Cafe, in a press release. “Norma’s was built on the idea that good home cooked food can make family out of friends and communities just a little bit closer. It is an honor to continue with these foundational traditions.”

Additionally, all proceeds from the celebration will go to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Dallas. The cause of supporting the next generation was especially close to the heart of former owner Ed Murph, who passed away in February 2026.

“Everything we do is in the spirit of what Ed created at Norma’s. Ed was an icon of the restaurant business and the Dallas community. It is with pride and considered a blessing of mine to have worked for Ed.” Metzger added. “He cared deeply about the people of DFW, and his spirit will live on as we navigate our future by always honoring our past. Supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters is simply one meaningful way we can carry that forward and make sure his legacy lives on in the years to come.”
